LAP-BLACK: Strengthening Local Capacity for Climate Change Response in the Black Sea Region

The Ukrainian Association of Business Support Centers (UABSC) announces the launch of a new international project – “LAP-BLACK: Strengthening Local Capacity for Climate Change Response in the Black Sea Region.”


This initiative is implemented under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021-2027 program and brings together key municipalities, scientific, and civil society organizations from various countries in the region. The project aims to enhance the adaptive capacity of local communities to climate change and develop comprehensive measures to mitigate its impacts.

The LAP-BLACK project aims to create a climate-resilient region, emphasizing the importance of local actions, international cooperation, and innovative environmental strategies.

The project unites partners from different Black Sea region countries, each contributing to the development and implementation of climate solutions:
🔹 Istanbul Technical University (Turkey). Partner budget: €189,004.80.
🔹 Metropolitan Municipality of Sakarya (Turkey). Partner budget: €447,272.12.
🔹 Municipality of Kobuleti (Georgia). Partner budget: €298,528.71.
🔹 Municipality of Kavala (Greece). Partner budget: €373,343.51.
🔹 Ukrainian Association of Business Support Centers (Ukraine). Partner budget: €137,215.94.

Total project budget: €146,061.16

EU funding: €1,314,550.14

Expected results:

  • Enhancing the capacity of local communities to address climate challenges.
  • Development and implementation of local climate adaptation plans.
  • Innovative solutions and environmental initiatives aimed at environmental protection and sustainable development.
  • Information campaigns and educational activities engaging communities in active climate actions.
