The Ukrainian Association of Business Support Centers is proud to announce the launch of a new international project, “Empowering Children for Environmental Sustainability through E-STEM” (EcosySTEM). This ambitious initiative, implemented under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021-2027 program, brings together leading educational and scientific institutions from various countries in the Black Sea region.
The EcosySTEM project aims to address critical environmental challenges by enhancing environmental literacy among children and youth. The primary focus is on integrating E-STEM (ecology, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) approaches into the educational process. This will enable children to develop essential technical skills, such as robotics and programming, which are crucial in today’s world.
The project is being implemented in collaboration with several key partners:
• International Development and Environmental Association (IDEA Universal) from Turkey (LP1). Partner budget: €521,183.71.
• Democritus University of Thrace – School of Engineering – Special Account for Research Funds from Greece (PP2). Partner budget: €405,752.11.
• Ukrainian Association of Business Support Centers from Ukraine (PP3). Partner budget: €351,374.71.
• Institute of Oceanology – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from Bulgaria (PP4). Partner budget: €349,448.71.
The total project budget is €1,627,759.24, of which €1,464,983.28 is funded by the European Union.
The innovative educational modules developed within the project not only combine environmental issues with practical technical tasks but also foster the development of critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The project also involves active community engagement in environmental initiatives through the organization of international environmental festivals.
Thanks to the funding from the European Union, EcosySTEM will ensure the creation of a replicable educational framework, including the establishment of a STEM education center and a comprehensive program that will integrate E-STEM into the region’s school curricula, ensuring a long-term impact on education and sustainable development.
